Freestanding Baths - the ultimate indulgence

Indulge in ultimate luxury with a freestanding bath from In Residence. Our baths not only provide a beautiful decorative focal point within your bathroom, they also offer the perfect opportunity for a relaxing soak after a long day.

Choosing the Right Bath

Freestanding baths have become a growing trend in New Zealand, and with so many styles and materials available on the market, it can be overwhelming to make the right choice. That's why we've identified four factors to consider when choosing the perfect bath for your home or project: Style, Ergonomics, Materiality, and Installation.

Freestanding Bath Styles

We offer a curated selection of luxury freestanding baths from The Water Monopoly that will enhance any interior style. Whether you're inspired by the old-world charm of   French tin baths of the late 19th Century, the sumptuous curves of the Art Nouveau era, or the clean modern lines of today, we have the right freestanding bath tub for you.

Speak with our knowledgable team who will ensure perfect harmony with your period, design, and style. In the famous words of Yves Saint Laurent, “Fashions fade, style is eternal.”

Freestanding Bath Ergonomics

Comfort is key when it comes to ergonomics, and our selection of silhouettes accommodates a range of body types and bathing styles. We recommend testing your dream bath in our showroom - just don't forget to take your shoes off!

What are our Freestanding Baths made of?

We offer two main types of freestanding bath. Our white baths are made from Vitrite, a stone and mineral composite that replicates the feel and glossy look of a traditional fireclay bath. Vitrite is scratch and chemical resistant, won't chip, crack, or fracture, and keeps water hot for longer. The Water Monopoly offers a guarantee of 25 years on Vitrite.

We also offer copper and brass metal bath tubs, which boast innovative insulation qualities and deep, curved sides for the ultimate luxury soak.

Bath Installation Requirements

When it comes to installation, it's important to understand the limitations of your bathroom. We recommend that you allow at least a body width of space around a freestanding bath to enable access and cleaning. Floors should be level, and, if installing a Soho Bath, the adjacent wall needs to be square and plumb. Our baths have a moderate weight of 50kg to 110kg, depending on the style, and require two people to lift into position.

Invest in the ultimate luxurious reward and create your very own spa retreat with a freestanding bath from In Residence.
