Q. Who are Perrin & Rowe?

Perrin & Rowe is a unique brand produced by a privately owned English company established by Bob Perrin and Greg Rowe. It has become England’s leading manufacturer of premium quality kitchen taps, bathroom taps and bathroom accessories. Their excellent designs, superb quality and attention to detail have earned their products specification in many of the worlds leading resorts, hotels and residences.

30 years ago in London, England, Bob Perrin & Greg Rowe had a vision to manufacture the highest quality classical kitchen and bathroom taps. Their determination was to blend original design with engineering excellence. They wanted to inject style, creativity and desirability, use the best materials and precisely control the manufacturing process.

The Perrin & Rowe brand became recognised as the world leader in premium quality classical brass tapware. Unlike many tapware brands, Perrin & Rowe has not moved its factories to Asia. All Perrin & Rowe products are still made in England in an environment that treasures its staff, promotes family values and concentrates on the perfection of each product it designs, makes and delivers.

Classical design does not go out of date but has a timeless elegance which sits comfortably alongside a wide range of architectural styles. Perrin & Rowe is the real thing: authentic quality and classical styling which ensures that
each product item will stand the test of time.

Q. Where are Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow made?

All Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow taps, accessories and sanitaryware are still made in England.

In a time when other English and European tapware companies have moved their factories to low cost, low wage destinations globally, Bob Perrin & Greg Rowe believe that high quality product cannot be made by remote control. It is only by manufacturing, polishing, plating, assembling and testing every item within their own factory that they can guarantee the premium quality and superior finish of their products.

Q. What is so special about Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow taps and bathroom accessories?

These products are still made by English craftsmen who fully understand the tradition, attitude and materials necessary to produce the finest products; manufacturing to a quality, not to a price. While other manufacturers have their tapware mass produced for the most economical price using materials and quality which are satisfactory for most purchasers, Bob Perrin & Greg Rowe have remained true to their original vision and take no shortcuts in producing the world’s most exclusive range of kitchen taps, bathroom taps and bathroom accessories. Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow are tapware brands for the discerning homeowner.

Q. What are Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow taps and bathroom accessories made of?

Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow products are made from high quality solid brass which time has proven to be the ultimate material for tapware, withstanding years of constant use and temperature variation without cracking or distorting. Each piece is hand polished, electroplated in a range of finishes, assembled and pressure tested prior to packaging. Every tap and fitting must survive the scrutiny of continuous hand inspections as it progresses through the manufacturing process to ensure the final impeccable result.

The white lever handles on taps and white components of bathroom accessories are fine English porcelain.

Q. Can Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow taps be used with low, high or unequal water pressure?

Many English homes still have ceiling tanks so Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow taps have been manufactured to allow use in both low and high pressure systems. The ceramic disc valves have a maximum permitted water pressure of 500 kpa (72 psi) so limiting valves must be fitted where the inlet water pressure may at any time exceed 500 kpa (72 psi). The minimum water pressure is 50 kpa (7 psi). For situations where there is unequal water pressure, usually evidenced by high water pressure at the cold tap and low water pressure at the hot tap, fit non-return valves to the hot and cold inlets. These are available from In Residence.

Q. What is the warranty on Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow products?

In Residence recognises that while our products are extremely well made and tested before leaving the factory, on a rare occasion a product may reach a customer with an undetected fault. Our customer service team will give immediate attention to notification of any problems or concerns.

Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow taps and bathroom accessories are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for 5 years from the date of purchase. Their plated metal finishes are warranted for five years against manufacturing defects, excepting the Gold and English Bronze finishes which are warranted against manufacturing defects for one year.

Their ceramic disc valves are warranted for one year providing that the tap is installed by a Registered Plumber in accordance with the installation instructions. These ceramic disc valves are easy and inexpensive to replace if necessary during the life of the tap.

The installation instructions specify that the maximum permitted inlet water pressure is 500 kpa (72 psi) which is also the maximum inlet water pressure allowed by the plumbing regulations. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in excessive water pressure causing the ceramic disc valves in the tap to develop a leak and invalidates the warranty.

Dated proof of purchase must be provided for all warranty claims.

Q. Can I customise the look of my Perrin & Rowe tap?

Perrin & Rowe and Perrin & Rowe Triflow taps with traditional lever handles may be customised by changing the levers. Classical models are supplied with white porcelain handles which for a small additional cost, can be easily changed to metal levers to match or complement the finish on the tap body or Corian levers in a wide range of colours. Country style models are supplied with metal levers which for an additional cost, may be changed to white porcelain or Corian levers.

Q. What is the best finish for my home?

The selection of a tap or accessories is a matter of personal taste and will depend upon the style of house and the interior design aspects of colour, cabinetry design, appliances and fittings. We offer the following as guidelines:

CHROME - A very high polished finish with a hint of blue.

NICKEL - Looks like Chrome but with a golden glow. Nickel looses its initial gleam to develop a patina but can be easily polished to its original shine. A Nickel tap picks up colour from the adjacent surfaces and has a classical elegance to suit the traditional home.

PEWTER - A brushed Nickel finish which looks like stainless steel. It is the perfect complement to stainless steel fittings and appliances and a timeless feature in a contemporary or traditional home.

GOLD - What can we add except that Gold further accentuates the luxurious style and quality of our products.

ENGLISH BRONZE - A chocolate brown coloured satin finish and an absolute statement in the right surroundings. Catch up with the Americans who have had this for years.

Q. What size holes do I need for Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow kitchen taps?

Single hole taps need a 35mm hole in the benchtop. Spray rinse models will require an additional 30mm hole.

Bridge style Io and Provence taps need two 25mm holes spaced at 200mm centres. The Ionian tap requires two 25mm holes and can accommodate hole spacing from 140mm to 260mm centres. For optimal presentation we recommend the holes are spaced at 200mm centres and when installing the Ionian, the installer positions the legs backwards behind the tap body.

Q. What happens if my bench-top is thicker than normal?

Monobloc taps are supplied with a fitting to fix them to bench-tops with a maximum thickness of 40mm. With the use of our accessory: EXT extension kit for fitting one hole taps into tops thicker than 40mm, this can be extended to a accommodate a benchtop thickness of up to 120mm.

Q. Do I need a Register Plumber to install my tap?

Yes. However it is recommended that the plumber follows the installation instructions enclosed with the product. This sheet details essential information including: the maximum water pressure, the need to fit in-line strainers on the hot and cold inlets and a reminder to flush all plumbing lines before installing the tapware.

Q. How do I clean my Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow taps and accessories?

The plating on Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow tapware is of the highest quality and can be kept clean with warm soapy water followed by a polish with a soft cloth. If you wish to very occasionally polish your tap, we recommend a gentle metal cleaner such as AUTOSOL which is available from most hardware stores.

Under no circumstances should you use any abrasive liquids, powders or pads to clean this product. This may damage the tapware finish and render the Warranty void.

Q. Why has my tap become loose on my bench-top?

The nut securing the tap to the underside of the bench may not have been firmly tightened. Alternatively the plumber may have missed installing the necessary rubber ‘O ring’ which sits between the bottom of the tap and the bench top. This ‘O ring’ compresses when the tap is tightened onto the bench top for a firm fit and to eliminate all movement.

Q. What is the delivery time for Perrin & Rowe, Perrin & Rowe Contemporary and Perrin & Rowe Triflow products?

In Residence endeavours to maintain stock levels to allow same day despatch. However, with the broad range of models and finishes which Perrin & Rowe and Triflow offer, we may on occasions sell out of a particular model. For this reason customers should ensure that their order is placed in plenty of time to guarantee delivery by the time the kitchen or bathroom is installed. For large or special orders allow up to eight weeks for manufacture and air-freight to New Zealand.

Q. Can Perrin & Rowe provide any way to dispense soap or lotions?

In Residence has a range of soap and lotion dispensers that complement the style and quality of Perrin & Rowe tapware. Manufactured in Europe, they come in a range of styles and finishes and can be bench mounted or freestanding. They provide a perfect and practical finishing touch to your project.
